Our scientist prooved the discovery of cryogenic engine eventhough India's GSLV D3 fails in mission..it is due to the failure of the vernier engines of cryogenic stage which controls the pitch , roll and yaw of the rocket. Flight was normal up to the second stage and sppeding at an average of 4.9km/sec.
Cryogenic engines are the motors designed for liquid fuels that have to be held at very low cryogenic temperature to be liquid they would otherwise be gas at normal temperature.typically hydrogen and oxygen are used for this purpose.
This is the first time India would be using indegenously built cryogenic stage and technologies which is crucial to put communication satlites weighing more than 2 tones in GTO(Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit). india's next flight with cryogenic engine takes place with in a one year..
